How to delete your account: step by step
You can delete your account yourself at any time. You do not need to write to us or wait for confirmation — data is erased immediately.
- 1 Open the web app minchatapp.com/web in any browser — on the same phone or on a computer — and sign in to your MinChat account.
- 2 Tap your avatar in the top-left corner to open Settings.
- 3 Scroll down to “Account deletion” and tap “Delete account”.
- 4 Confirm deletion: enter your account password. If you sign in with Google — type the word DELETE.
- 5 Done. The account and data are deleted immediately, and you are signed out on all devices.
The account in the web app and in the mobile app is the same, so deleting it in the browser also removes it from your phone. Forgot your password? Reset it on the sign-in page, then delete the account.
What data is deleted
Everything listed is erased from our servers immediately on confirmation — no trash and no waiting period.

What data is kept and for how long

| Messages from other members in groups and channels you were in | Those are their data, not yours. Your name no longer appears in those chats. They are kept until the authors delete them. |
| Groups and channels you owned | If other members remain, ownership passes to them. If you were the last member, the conversation is deleted immediately. |
| Database backups | Up to 30 days, then overwritten. Data is not restored from backups — they exist only in case of an outage. |
| Server technical logs (IP address, request time) | Up to 90 days — to defend against attacks and diagnose failures, then deleted automatically. |
| Data the law requires us to keep | Only if the law expressly requires it, and only for the period it sets. |
Please note: copies of messages that contacts saved or photographed are outside our control.
